Don’t believe everything you hear about e-liquids, especially when the New York Times starts publishing erroneous reports on the matter that contain very little fact, and a whole lot of rumor! When they recently published an article claiming that e-liquid poses a very possible poisoning risk, especially to children, it set e-cigarette users off in a very unpleasant way, garnering reactions that ranged from obviously worried, to offended, angry, and paranoid. So if you are a vapor cigarette smoker who uses liquid when vaping, we ask that you use our e-liquids, and read articles with a certain degree of common sense. In the meantime, if you want to know some specific tips on keeping things safe with e-liquids, here are a few things you can do:

-Store things safely. If you have children, do you keep your cigarettes within their reach? Most likely not. What about medicine, or alcohol? Yeah, probably not things you want your kids getting a hold of, and e-cigarettes, e-liquid, and your vaping gear should all be treated in the same regards, and kept entirely out of the grasp of young children. Along the same lines, e-cigarette liquids should be stored in cool, dark places away from heat and light.

-If your liquid spills, clean it up ASAP. More common sense stuff here, however it’s completely true. One way to minimize anyone’s exposure to e-liquid is to clean it up immediately should you have an unfortunate spill. If any should get on clothing or skin, wash it immediately.

-Knowledge is key. Empower your older children with the knowledge that there are things which are kept out their reach for a reason. Certain products are meant to be handled by adults only, and they should be taught that e-liquids are meant for adult use, consumption, and handling only.

-Responsible Disposal: E-cigarette liquid needs to be disposed of properly, in the event you are disposing it, such as in the case if it has gone bad. It should not be poured down drains or in toilets, where it can make its way into groundwater. The best way to get rid of it is to pour the liquid into a sealed plastic bag filled with an absorbable material such as kitty litter, and dispose of it in the garbage.

With the ever-growing popularity of e-cigs comes the insurgence of media hype, which has to be expected to not always depict an accurate view. So, we urge you to be an informed consumer, use common sense, and to the right thing to take care of your e-liquid.
